I use #popups vs windows because of thier mobilty on the screen. But I have found a problem.

Using this to test will show the problem.
(assuming sloth)

login one character -

#popup {Exits} {Exit}

Move around, see that it captures, and logout, then login another character.

The popup is still defined, and can be in both scripts, yet, in the second character it will not capture.

Log out, and back in with the original character, and they work again.

The only way I have found to make the popusp work in 2 characers is to delete the configuration in the script explorer for each #popup, then re-create them on each login, then of course they myst be re-docked, etc.

It would be nice for the popups to work without redefining them.

Thanks,

Madmax (Sloth)

I had a problem with pop ups on sloth earlier today, splork told me to take it
here. What happens is...

#popup {chatty} {tell;gossip;auction;say;hosers}

Now it creates the window, how ever it does not update after this.
Any attempt to delete this from the script window usualy results in a crash.

It wont do this every time, merely 50% or so.

The other 50% it will begin to track properly the filters to send to the popup
window, but after a minute or so, the chatty window will merely be a second
window, as both the main window and the popup share all the same data.

Either way, popup is being odd.

Aside from that, I cant beleive how far wintin has come through the years.

At the moment popup windows are bound to a session: they filter all the text coming from one named session. For this, we'd need to define a slightly different window that filters text coming from all sessions. I'll note that as a feature request.

Kell

use | to separate your triggers:

#popup {chatty} {tell|gossip|auction|say|hosers}

this seems to work ok as far as I can tell. I haven't made it crash yet: if you can, please post here whole error message you get when it next does - the stack trace.

thanks

William
