Chris Turner posted the message below to the Wintin95 mailing list today - please contact him if you're interested. Many thanks Chris!

Subject: RE: [Wintin-discuss] Recent Activity?
There has been some work being done on Wintin, here's a current list of changes I've made that are just about ready for distribution...
1 Changed the number of available panels (#panel command) to 4.
2 Added on/off arguments to #presub toggle
3 change #apptitle so that it doesn't alter the titles in window 1-9
4 Changed the icon
5 changed the #sound & #music command to accept {} around file names
6 changed #sound & #music command to look in the msp_dir defined directory
7 changed #sound & #music so that it doesn't play anything if the file isn't found
8 added an error message showing what file name was looked for in the music and sound commands if they can't be found
9 changed the tintin_puts commands so that they take a variable number of args - this isn't visible to end users - only poor smucks poking around in the code. 10 modified #showme command so that text can be sent to any of the windows - syntax is #showme {?} {text} where ? is the window number
11 added on/off arguments to #echo toggle
12 added on/off arguments to #speedwalk toggle
13 added on/off arguments to #ignore toggle
14 created windows interface to #message commands
15 created windows interface to #presub command
16 added an on/off switch (and windows interface) for the system command. ] 17 New connect dialog list with some nice features.
a. it retains more than 1 connection
b. it has a built in configuration file associated with each connection
c. you can double click on a connection to connect
18 Added #event command
a. Format: #event {seconds between each command} {command}
b. example: #event {10} {look}
c. Result: every ten seconds the command 'look' will be issued to the mud
d. limitations: #event is only valid in active sessions - it can't be used to re-establish connections. I haven't put in code to allow variables to be put into the left side, I think this will end up being pretty important and will most likely add that very soon. 19 Added #unevent command
- to be used like all of the #un... commands
20 Added #delay command
a. Format: #delay {number of seconds} {command}
b. example: #event {5} {buy $numbread bread}
c. result: after 5 seconds issue the command buy $numbread bread
d. limitations: same as event
21 Added #undelay command.
- to be used like all of the other #un commands
22 Added new options for #ignore command (#ignore actions on/off, #ignore events on/off. #ignore on/off still works) 23 new items on the tool bar
a. command file save/load
b. connect/disconnect
c. switch dialog access button
d. definition button
e. sound commands button.
24 some loop bugs have been solved - the code now correctly tells the difference between #loop {$TEST1}{command} and #loop {$TEST2} {command} and uses the correct $TEST1 or $TEST2 variable.
I'm looking for some brave souls to beta test the changes.
Please drop me a line if you are interested in trying out the new code.

I've sent an email to wintin-discuss-admin@lists.sourceforge.net to recieve a copy of his beta version of Wintin 95 but, I have yet to recieve a reply. Does he have a link to where the new version can be downloaded and/or another email address to where he can be reached?

Hrm ... Im confused now. I tought that Wintin.net was an upgrade of Wintin95, and that all developing of Wintin was going to be headed to Wintin.net now. Now, a new version of Wintin95 show up. It means that, from now, there are going to be two different versions of Wintin? Or ... *shrug* _________________ Linsey/Vivian/Annie/Isabo in Sloth (slothmud.org 6101) |

These are great changes, you won't find me complaining. This fixes a few glaring holes in wintin95 and adds a little more completeness to an old well used client. Now if only #highlight would send things to other windows with their original colors... |

| Just to explain whats going on, I'm not planning to do any more development of Wintin 95, but the code is publicly available and I'll certainly do what I can to support anyone else in enhancing and supporting it, as Chris has done. |

I'm sorry to mention that the statement that wintin 95 is a complete port of tintin++ is no longer correct =] _________________ Everyone is somebody elses weirdo |

| Might be worth mailing Chris directly at mamet@adelphia.net, maybe he isn't monitoring this forum. |
